In the distant past, people were both awed and alarmed by comets. They perceived them as long-haired stars that appeared in the sky unannounced and unpredictably.
Negra, The Comet of the Black Death that was sighted in 1347 is said to have coincided with the great plague.
The “Black Death,” killed half the population of Europe from 1346 to 1350.
